{November 30, 2006}   Moi?

why2.jpgPart of this is therapy, and part of this is to answer “who are you” to people I meet on the web.  Some basics:  I live in Seattle, I’m VERY out-door-sie, I’m going thru a divorceYIPPEE!  FINALLY DIVORCED! I w–k as an office geek in a research firm, I model on occasion, mainly spokes-model stuff, boat shows, and convention and trade shows.

So, some of my rambling will be just plain vanilla bitching about life in general.  Some of it will be complaining about what should have been be a simple (but wasn’t  ain’t ) divorce.  And some of it, yes, will be an occasional review of my day-to-day life.

Thanks for reading.  Drop me a comment or a note if you want.

Dear Susan,

I’m never returning to your blog for several very good reasons.

We both know cats and dogs don’t watch TV. Mostly so they don’t have to look at thing’s they can’t have like Ferrari’s and Elle McPherson.

Also, having yet to outgrow the usual adolescent jealousy and posessiveness, I wouldn’t want to embarrass you or myself.

Not to mention I have a loving wife who would be heartbroken if she imagined I was focused on a young, attractive woman.

So, I wish you the best with your career, your divorce and your life. Remember, If you let it, it will get away from you. Life truly is short.

Sincerely,
Hank =;-)~

I like flying too. Unfortunately, I do not have a license. I have to go up with my commercial pilot friend. Right now, I’d say that fuel costs are just too prohibitive to consider doing the number of hours I need to do. But good on you. How long have you had the license?

My license came up after 9/11, believe it or not. My then-boyfriend (later husband, later ex-husband) and I were pretty pissed and gung-ho to do something. I had JUST seen that Meg Ryan movie where she plays the helicopter pilot in the Gulf War who gets killed…. anyway, he and I were seriously talking about joining the military. I wanted to become a helicopter pilot, and he’s an attorney so he talked about joining the JAG corp. (My dad was Navy Intelligence and an Annapolis grad, so this isn’t really that surprising.) ANYWAY…. we never went thru with it, but I got the itch and started taking flying lessons. I was hooked, and ended up down at the airport every spare minute. I solo’d by the next spring, then easily passed the exams (written, oral, and practical) in the late spring. Finished instrument quals soon after. Now working on my commercial ticket.

Yeah, it’s VERY expensive. I spend about $500 – $1000 per month on my flying habit.
