susan from seattle

I keep PLANNING to get away from here and ride the train up to NYC for a few days…. I keep PLANNING to do that, then I wake up every morning and smell Mom’s cooking downstairs and semi-remember what it was like to be in school and come home for the holidays… and then I roll over and do nothing for the day….

Sigh…. so much time… and nothing to do…

Ohhh…. these two pics were just e-mailed to me from a friend… taken at a party last week.  I look like crap, right?

{December 3, 2007}   sniff….

Somehow caught the sniffles.  Wuz HOPING to go to NYC for the weekend, but that never materialized.  Other than a couple of evenings out, I’ve mostly been hanging out here at the parents, doing…. wait… listen for it…. NOTHING.

…and “nothings” not really bad, ya know?…. I’m kinda enjoying it.  Very different.  I actually get to read a little.  Did you know there was television on in the daytime?….. huh…. me neither….

{November 26, 2007}   sooo…. how wuz thanksgiving?

I’m still here with the parental units.  Not a bad weekend.  Lots of unasked questions.  Dad seems w-a-a-a-a-a-y more accepting.  Mom can’t understand how I could be married so long and then suddenly it’s over…. but she’s been sweet enuf to keep things to herself.

My agent in Seattle says the condo sale looks great.  I should clear escrow before New Years.  YEAH!

susan-head-shot.jpgI’m “en-route” from Seattle….. I really should have kept up this blog while I was in process, but I just couldn’t find the time.  Now I’m on the road (well, technically I’m checking out of a hotel in Colorado in a few minutes)…. on to a totally brand new life.

The trip so far has been wonderfully relaxing.  I drove two days to Breckinridge and spent Sunday night thru this mornign here just enjoying the brand new powder.  Yeah, I know it’ll be better in a month, but no one’s here now, ya know?

Driving thru the midwest today and tomorrow, and scheduled to arrive back in Maryland on Wed night.  I’ll be up to my elbows in a turkey’s ass by Thursday at daybreak… LOL….

Well… bye…. I’ll write again tonite or tomorrow morning before I check out.

{October 10, 2007}   Key West, anyone?

I’ve decided — I’m headed for Key West for at least a couple of weeks the last half of this month.  It’s supposedly the “off” season, but party-time for the locals.  I’ll be able to see what the place looks like without all the touristi’s.

I’m VERY serious about the commercial flying idea.  Gotta see if I can get any traction down there for that.

{October 2, 2007}   hey me….miss me?

I’m basically addressing this to me, since I’m really the only one who reads this mush.  And yeah, I haven’t been here in a while.  So, what’s your point?

I’m still coming to grips with the ex-, who I’ve now simply started referring to as Voltemort, cuz, ya know he would have considered it a compliment if I called him ‘cheney”.

I’ve been giving VERY serious consideration to leaving Seattle.  I came here because of him, and he’s still here, and I really don’t have any reason to stay other than the economics (I make a TON of money here).  I could live a lot cheaper in NOLA, but I’d basically have to start over financially.  I REALLY want to move to NYC, but that’s worse than Seattle, and again I’d have to start over.  Ditto my other choice (Key West), although right now Key West is holding a lot of promise.

Oh well… nice to be back on the blog universe.

{July 26, 2007}   time flies

“time flies like an arrow. fruit flies like a banana” — Woody Allen

OK, it’s been a busy July.  Traveled mostly.  Did the whole Lake Union fireworks thingie on the 4th then hopped a plane to visit parents on the other coast. Spent a week.  Never gonna get THAT week of my life back, if you know what I mean.  Last half of the month here, doing same-old-same-old.

I WISH I had some interesting stories to share with my future self, but I don’t.  It’s been, frankly, a boring month.  Maybe August will get more interesting.  It’s the end of friggin JULY and I don’t even have a tan to show for it!

{July 5, 2007}   4th of July

Not a half-bad day.  Weather here was WONDERFUL.  Went out on a friend’s boat at night on Lake Union and watched the fireworks from up really close.  SPECTACULAR.  They’ve got their boat docked there, so we never left the dock.  I can’t IMAGINE trying to be out on the water… there were like a thousand boats out there.  Got in l-a-t-e last night.

Headed for the east coast this weekend…. gonna go visit parental units.  Nothing until later.

{June 26, 2007}

What a WONDERFULLY relaxing weekend.  I’ve GOT to do that again!  Ran up to Whistler for the start of the summer season with some friends.  Great place to relax… hike…. drink a little too much…. play a lot…. party a little.  Sigh….. I’m ready to tackle the world again.

{June 17, 2007}   Back again…

susan-without-makeup.jpgsusan-without-makeup.jpgsusan-without-makeup.jpgI have been TOTALLY caught up in other stuff.  The promotion (?) at my day-job has left me spinning.  I seem to be traveling every other week, and it’s getting old quickly.   Now they’re talking about me spending a friggin WEEK in NYC in July.  (Yeah, second prize was two weeks in NYC in July.)  Sigh….

It’s Sunday.  The weather outside sucks — cold and rainy.  Typical Seattle June.  Two of us went to the Freemont street faire thingie yesterday.  Too kewl for words, but drank w-a-a-a-a-ay too much.  I’m suffering today.
